The term hair loss includes a wide range of hair diseases.

The most common are:

• Diffuse alopecia , which is usually due to poor nutrition, stress, hormonal disorders.
• Alopecia areata, an autoimmune disease in which the body "destroys" its own hair and can affect all parts of the body.
• Androgenic alopecia (baldness), which affects mainly males and females to a lesser extent and is inherited. It is the most common type of alopecia.

Depending on the type of alopecia, there are special treatments that should be discussed with the Dermatologist.

In particular for androgenic alopecia, the following medicines are used successfully:
a. Minoxidil (topically applied).
b. Finasteride (only for men).
c. Hormonal preparations used locally.
d. New treatments, such as ACR.

Are there any lab tests?

An important diagnostic test is the trichogramma, which helps us have a more objective documentation of the severity of the disease.
